Correction: Governor provides ZERO additional funding for High Speed Rail in revised 2007/08 budget

Should read the news before writing blog posts and then ending up looking stupid…

Despite having just voiced his opinion that California should build High Speed Rail (full statement of the Governor is here), the Governor failed to provide more funding for the High-Speed Rail Authority in his revised budget for fiscal 2007-08. The reason why there even is a higher sum in the budget is because a) the Authority wants to carry over some funds from the previous fiscal year and b) the Orange County Transportation Authority is providing some additional funding under certain conditions. There is ZERO additional funding from state sources in the Governor’s revised budget.

So let’s go back and write those letters to our esteemed legislators - after all, they’re there to represent us - the people (not just themselves, as many often seem to think).
